Anyone feel guilty at their first egg?

nope, don't feel guilty.

my dad called me tonight and told me he got 3 pullet eggs tonight. i'm thinking, "sweet!" he's got several black australorp, buff orpington, new hampshires and RIR's pullets ready to lay any day. then he said he got them from our 16-week old freedom rangers

(which we've been trying to find time to process, but due to the heat in our area and my work schedule has been challenging)

My chicks are about 10-12 wks away from laying and I am not planning any guilt. We have taken great pains to make sure the girls are fat and sassy and can't wait for the 1st fruit of all of our labors.

We will of course thank them all and continue to spoil them.
