Anyone Gluten, Dairy, Caffeine, or Corn Free? How about all of them :P

ugh i have candidiasis and i can't have ANY grains, sugar, milk, minimal fruit, no honey at the moment, no coffee, no soy, no starches (potatoes, specifically) and i'm a vegetarian... it would be easier to tell you what i can eat: basically veggies, nuts, eggs and some dairy other than milk. that's it

and because of my sensitivity to certain food i've had to be homeschooled my first year of high school and now into my second year... i miss everyone

oh i have a recipe to share, peeps. it's fat-free, sugar free, nothing artificial, and yet it tastes just like strawberry ice cream!
okay so you freeze some bananas (take off the skin first) and when they're frozen you put them in a food proccessor with some warm water if you need it and process them until they're smooth, then you add frozen strawberries, more for strawberry ice cream, less for a strawberry-banana kind of taste and mix it again. i like to add some walnuts at the end too to help give it some more texture and for protien but only process them for maybe thirty second so they don't get mixed in too much for you to taste. you can eat it right away of keep it in the freezer for a bit. if you do that you might have to re-process it tho. enjoy!

this is a great thread, i'm so glad i'm not the only one out there with a limited diet!

Oh I hear you on that. I've got four relatives with that, and one is a Vegetarian. Times are tough these days with all the lovely diseases and lovely store-bought food choices we have.

It's a good thing I got a greenhouse. We've got some bananas growing here ( yep, haven't eaten ANY bananas since early this spring, gonna wait to enjoy home-fresh pesticide free bananas

) and next year are going to have some Chocolate trees share the space. Raw Cacao is pretty good for you, MUCH healthier than chocolate from candy, plus there's nothing like homegrown tropical and subtropical foods when you live in a temperate, rainy climate

I'm looking forward to doing Cinnamon in 2 years, and contemplating what else there is. Some sort of "must" food that I can't grow normally out here. . . .

I'll say this - Before I bought my Banana plants/trees as little babies shipped here, I watched a lot of videos on how to grow, care for, and harvest them. The video was aimed at Commercial production, so they showed basically what happens to the bananas you get from the store . . . . .

We have a family member who is gluten free and dairy free so most of my recipes come from PALEO/PRIMAL diet plans which are gf/df/grain/legume free and low carb. They are in line with our food allergies and it makes meals easy to prepare that's for sure. Check out Marksdailyapple.com he has some free downloadable cookbooks that have some great recipes, also Paleo Comfort foods by Julie and Charles Mayfield cookbook is awesome too. It's not always fun but there are so many alternative available today!

I have latex-fruit syndrome and oral allergy syndrome . The doctors suspect wheat intolerance, and I am lactose intolerant. I am VIOLENTLY allergic to bananas (anaphylactic), I take allergy shots and a daily dose of allergy medication twice to three times what a "normal" person takes, just to get through a day. I tell people I'm allergic to air.

Currently I'm moving slowly into Primal eating. I have to stick to citrus (no reaction yet) and stone fruits for eating because of the LFS, and with veggies most of them have to be steamed first (although I am one of the lucky ones and am able to eat salad greens without wilting/steaming them first).

My biggest problem is that I love wheat (cereals, bagels, pasta) and my partner is NOT willing to give it up. He has to have it in the house and my self-control is very low when it comes to it. I've tried rice pasta and I hate it. Basically I'm just going to have to figure out a way to boost my fortitude enough to not eat it even if it's RIGHT.THERE.

sort of. i got the frozen banana thing from a book, but it was too plain so i added the strawberries and walnuts. i'm doing an online charter school called VLACS (Virtual Learning Academy Charter School). so far i'm not too pleased with it. tenth grade and we're doing all the stuff i did in eight grade at the public school

illia, i wish i had a greenhouse! i'd love to grow more of my own food! we only have a small garden for tomatoes, squash, lettuce, kale, carrots, green beans, watermelon and some other choice vegetables and fruits to last the summer. not enough to save for the winter

Flour recipe:
One part sorghum flour
One part brown rice flour
One part white rice flour
One part sweet rice flour (This is made from long-grain rather than short grain rice)
One part tapioca flour
One part potato flour

When baking, I use 1/2 tsp. Xantham gum per one cup of flour.
This recipe is by far the best we've ever used. It works great in baking without any of the graniness you get in a lot of GF flours.

I'll get the bread recipe up as soon as I can.

Corn Free here. I am allergic to corn!!
barnie.gif
I used to LOVE corn. Noooo!! So there is a looong list of what I can't eat/drink, and a short list of what I can. I can't even have normal sodas (high fructose corn syrup)! But I did discover one I can have: Hansen's Natural Sodas (made w/cane sugar). They have many flavors, my faves are Ginger Ale. Raspberry soda, and Cherry Vanilla Creme soda.

I don't know if you can get it in your area, but around here you can get the "Jones" brand of soda, and some of theirs has no HFCS.

I'm sure you already know this, but watch out for dextrose and sucrose... Those are eeeeeeeeeeeeeviiiiiil...... Corn in sugar's clothing.
