I just went to the coop to let the kids back out and I had 5 eggs! Since we still have one bator empty, they are going in! I know our game chicken layed 2 (one yesterday and one today) but I didn't think anyone else really was laying, I hope they all develop and hatch just to see what they are! I hope our SS Hamburg is laying plus our Sumatra hen!

But I only had two white eggs, so who knows! Oh what color egg do D'Uccles lay? I just got mine about a month ago and with the cold the girls haven't layed, all the eggs are small/medium, but nothing crazy big...

I have 48 eggs in the incubator due to hatch April 5th. They are a mix from a friends farm. Hope they all hatch.

So, I was cleaning up my kitchen table when I noticed the gate that keeps my broody in her cage was knocked over. Then I heard the squawking and looked over to see my broody hen fighting through the fence with another one of my hens.

They were going all at it, my broody's comb is all bloody. I totally freaked out. We finally got her to calm down and eat but she kept going over to the fence where the other chickens were hanging out looking like she was gonna fight some more. I'm a bit rattled. Incubators never have this kind of trouble...
