bburn, I will wait back and start with you.

Just had my first pip about 30 minutes ago.....so I am not going to be far behind. I have the eggs ready to go when the time comes. Hatching my own again this time unless I can find the fella that has cochins over in the next county. Would like to get some different cochin blood in my flock.

Trying to stay out of the room with the incubator.....already posted a picture of the pipped egg on facebook.....lol...

very cute.. I told my boys I was hopping on a plane and going to Baltimore. They said WHY. I said because it is going to be in the 80's we hit a whopping 45.

I'm so excited for you bburn..I know how you feel when that first pip happens. No matter how many times I do this, I yell out to the house...I HAVE A PIP! It's just my husband and a 17 yr. old now. They are used to it, but are always nice to say something like..way to go...or, which one are these?????????

how are they doing with that nipple waterer?

I was wondering that also

nipples are the only wat to go. They find that in about 15 seconds and I never worry about chiks on a nipple. They are way cleaner and the water stays cleaner. I use this one to start thema s the bottle is tilted and I can set the height about beak high to them walking around. I push the nipple in to get a bead of water on it and set the chicks in there, The first one will peck it in less than a minute and the rest follow suit. I need to order some more. I have some in pails in my grow out pens and some in pipes for the layers in summer

The worst thing was I was home alone! DH is working out of state but I managed to catch him before he put his phone up....FINALLY found my DGD who is my chicken partner and drove up to get her and bring her here for the birthing....lol. Now I have someone to get excited with me! We are up for an all nighter!
