Yuppers, I'm very serious! Now, if I get a broody, she'll get some eggs, but I'm done being a bator jockey for quite some time.

I~~think~~I'm getting there too. We'll see after this spring. I can't work, so I enjoy the hatching and watching for the ones I want to keep, then, meeting other chicken people when it's time to sell the others. Chicken people are the friendliest!

Sometimes it take a long time when you have to birth yourself. Pipped last night at 6pm.....emerged this morning around 11am. And somebody help me but it already looks like a rooster! It is 1/2 Buff Orpington and 1/2 RIR (I think on the second half).

Two more pips and one is a wild one.......and 36 more to go!!

Ok...now you can lock up this thread. I know where to find you guys if I have quesitons!!!!

It has been so exciting....have the inside brooder warming up....but I think we are in for a long night tonight. Day 21 starts at 8pm.

This chick is huge by the way.....it was a big egg. Now if he will just fluff up!

Yes, with that many left to hatch, you will have some loud on going chirps for a while. They usually make a lot of noise after they hatch, as if to say, I'm here, I'm here, where are you mom????

You will have fun. Enjoy!

two out....just alike....three more pips and some loud peeping going on....brooder is good and warmed up and I moved the two that were out into it...they were all over the incubator and really getting close to the heating elements...they are starting to fluff....

Looks like they will fluff out a pretty yellowish/red color from what I can see while wet. That will be a pretty color. More babies..yaay..
