anyone hatching around jan. 19th?

Day 19 here...Watching and waiting. Normally, my hatches have begun on day 19, so I may have babies by tonight.

All 9 orps had movement when I put them in the hatcher, so hopefully, I'll have a good hatch.

I have some Dominique chicks, buff orpingtons due around 26th! Hopefully waiting. Some eggs were too dark to see but should have a good hatch from the ones I could see. Of course cannot wait just like everyone else that hatches chicks.

18 Golden Cuckoo Marans eggs to the hatcher this morning.

Schedule says hatching on the 19th, we seem to get first outs a day early, with hatch ending on day 21. Going to try the egg carton method in the hatcher for the second time. Last weeks hatch we went 12 of 14, so we will try to see if there is a trend.

Can't wait to see pics of those golden cuckoos, nivtup! Those are some pretty birds! I'm hoping that I might be able to run across a few eggs for my second round of hatching....but I guess I have to wait and see how my FIRST hatch goes!

i know this is a stupid Question but what is a hatcher is it different then a incubator

No difference between an incubator and a hatcher physically. It is about the environment.

Incubator - Lower humidity (ours runs at 45%) and turning daily.

Hatcher - Higher Humidity (we run at 60% - 65%) no turning.

We cant seem to quit putting eggs in the bator, so we have a seperate unit we hatch in. This practic allows for staggered hatches.

Just woke up to our first pip - - Day 20

We have 18 eggs in the incubator. Overnight, 3 or 4 have move slightly from their Day 18 placement. I can hear chirping...but it sounds like one chick (guessing the same one that has pipped).

It's going to be a fun day
