anyone hatching July 1?

3 peeps so far! the little yellow guy was early - hatched yesterday still 5 eggs under mama... I coaxed her up for a minute today just to count heads. Feel like a jerk disturbing her, but it's unseasonably cool here, and I wanted to make sure they were alright. They were so quiet! Now that that sun's out and it warmed up a little, they are peeping away.

I'm a few days behind it seems. Candled a few eggs today and this is what we got.

On day 21, which i planned to be off work and woke up an hour earlier than my work day alarm. Not a pop or peep. When i candeked and locked down there was movement all around. Feeling anxious. My husband saidbits like a first pregnancy, it lasts forever. LOL

Last night we got our first. The white ones are no good. 1 more, I hope all goes well, it's a brown egg so when I candled it, it was all too dark for me to tell anything, but seemed like a full egg. This is both our firsts

We got our first! I hear a couple more in the box behind her, so hopefully they ate all doing well! The one that we can see looks really slee, hatching must be hard work, I hope they are all ok it is really hot out. Mom is panting a little, but won't move off the box. I gave her a drink of water which she was happy to have.

yay! for everyone with peeps! i still have just the 3 chicks from 8 eggs set under my broody. finally candled the other 5 and no go. bummer. but i've 3 happy, healthy peeps! good luck all, and keep posting!

Mama is panting pretty bad, we just passed the hottest part of the day, I gave her some water and set up a fan, but I am worried, we have 3 out, 2 more have started to hatch,they have zipped and are resting. I added a sprinkler to the yard and watered down the outside of the coop to try and keep the humidity up. I don't want to loose mama from heat stroke while she is hatching these out.

@The3GoodFaries , what part of the world are you in? Just curious, what with your weather. I hope your hen is ok! I think I had the opposite problem here, our nights were too cool, and I think that may be why I only had 3 out of 8 hatch. Will be thinking of you, and best of luck!

So, of 8 eggs, we've got 3 chicks. But they're cute!
