yay!Oh gosh! My daughter is spending the night with her mamaw tonight but she forgot something at home so they stopped back by to pick something up. I was so excited to show her that the eggs were chirping so we went back to the coop to listen and see. The chick has zipped and is in the process of pushing the top off. We watched it move up and down for a minute before I set broody back all the way down (I don't take her off the nest, just lift her slighty and very gently). This is so exciting. My daughter thought it was the neatest thing.
very, very nice! congrats!Yall know what this means! Chick has hatched. Apparently, a RIR and BR hen make black sex links. Looks like chick number one will be a roo. Definitely two colors on its head. I couldn't get a pic of it and hold broody, too, so yall will have to settle for this for the time being.
And mom, just daring me to try to bother her chicky![]()
I have 2 chicks, one hatched out very nice but the other appears sticky. I have another pipped. Anxiously waiting
