Have a qeustion. Im new to the hatching actually havent started yet. Im converting my old milk house into a hatchery and for goat milking will around 60 degrees be ok in the winter to keep the incubators in ? can I keep it cooler? Whats the best times to hatch?

It's supposed to be a black copper maran... its more copper in color then black at this point. May be mixed, but the egg shell is the dark chocolate color, so I'll keep her.

Is that what they use too breed with to get a blrw? read a post somewhere and I thought they said they where using those as breeding hens.

No they didn't use a maran for the BLRW. Here's some history on how that cross came to be. It was from a wyandotte and brahma to get it:

I am in soooooo much trouble. You all will hear my DH scream from where ever you live next saturday when I come home with my new purchase. I am NOT going to tell him ANYTHING!! I bought a 50's redwood incubator. 600 egg capacity.

I might need the name of a good attorney after this.

want one with 1500 egg capacity with a 300 egg hatcher ?

My broody is on day 7 today! This is my first time having a hen go broody so im kinda nervouse about it, I can tell she wants to be amamma so bad, so I really hope she hatches some!!
