Oh, and smart move to get a chair for by the bator! I need one! I'm keeping an eye out at good will! I have a horrible kink in my back from working on the aviary ! I hope this is a smooth easy hatch! LOL!

Unloading 125# of feed last night didn't help it any! Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a chair by mine, but I still get back aches when in lockdown, but I keep mine in a closet so there is no draft, so I still have to bend over to look in the windows, my hubby took pictures of me from our last hatch half way in the closet, he said it looked like I saw searching for Narnia, lol

So I feel your pain.

Sounds like it's time to get a good "black mailing" pic of hubby!

Our table is waist high, and It's out in the room where everyone can watch the hatch. But I hover so much , I'm really going to look for a chair. LOL!

I'm very active! Bowl every week, hike in a river, sand and rock almost daily, garden, work on and build my own cages as much as possible, heavy lifting, like feed sack.

... but man, leaning over that bator is a killer! :lol

I'm sorry you get back aches too, but i'm glad i'm not alone! LOL!

Nope you definetly not alone, I am pretty active too, I love working in my gardens, and there is always somethine to be done since we have 5 acres, but none of that hurts my back like leaning over the bator,

I think we get som mesmorized, you don't realize how long you've been sitting like that, does that make me sound crazy

I just picked up my SG eggs from the PO. They made a fast trip! They were mailed on Saturday. All made it intact. As soon as the catdances get here I will be loading down the bator. Oh, the wait will be killing me!! A few will be going into the first bator till I determine viability/room!

Thanks for the kind thoughts everyone! I am sad to report that he didn't make it, his body was already in the beginning stages of rigor mortis when I began trying to assist, so I am assuming he passed sometime late last night. Poor little guy, but I did notice when I did the eggtopsy that something attached to the yolk (it looked like an ambilical cord, I know there's a correct term for it but I can't remember what it is,

) he had absorbed was wrapped around one of his legs and it had pulled it in an awkward position, which would maybe explain why he couldn't get into the right position for hatching. I also noticed bleeding near his bottom and on the thing wrapped around his leg, any expert thoughts would be appreciated as I have no idea what that could be.

Otherwise my first hatchling is doing great, peeping up a storm in an effort to wake it's siblings, lol. Too cute, but it's working! One of my pipped eggs looks like it's trying to zip.

I'll post pictures once they dry out, my incubator is small so it's difficult to get pictures around all the other eggs and cartons I used to prop up the eggs.

So excited to see what colors I get! You'll all have to play the color guessing game with me, lol!

The "Miracle" egg pipped this morning, along with another leghorn. Day 24 has begun! I wonder why none of the EE are starting to hatch yet... hmmm. Must be my evil incubator.
