Yes, my hatch date was actually Sunday, they just started pipping this morning though, my temp was unsteady at first I think is why they are late. I have 6 Delewares, 3 Speckled Sussex and 1 silkie. 1 speckled sussex just hatched,

Yes it will be a long 21 days, I remember my first hatch, I thought it was the longest 21 days of my life,

yay awesome i wanna see pics!!!! i love silkies!!!! That's amazing!!! made me even more excited about my hatch.............
it's already the longest waiting 5 days to collect eggs!

yay awesome i wanna see pics!!!! i love silkies!!!! That's amazing!!! made me even more excited about my hatch.............

I will post some pics when we get him in the brooder, yea I was about ready to give up because my last hatch I had none hatch, it was my first with shipped eggs, these were shipped too. Hatch rate is soooo much better when I use my own collected eggs but when you want to get new breeds and no one around you has them, you don't really have a choice but to buy shipped eggs which is always a gamble.

I hope more start piping soon, I'm sooo excited!!!

oh no, that sucks your power went out on hatch day, I would be sooo upset!! My last hatch that failed had some porelain silkies in it, I am really wanting some porcelain and patridge silkies, the only way to get them I can find is to get shipped eggs, so I am waiting until I get a new incubator to try again, I have a LG now that I hate!!

At least your husband "likes" chickens! I start talking chicken and my family gets a zombie stare going on. I mentioned something about "my friends" last night, meaning you all and my husband was like, "there's more of you????"

At first my husband wasn't so crazy about them but now that he realizes the geese don't like them

and the chickens won't attack him he actually is taking an interest in them and literally brought two of them out to their run for me

I almost fell over

when I looked up and saw him standing there holding them in his arms

Also Melissa rose, I didn't get my swing built yet. I asked my DH for some eyebolts and he asked why. I explained what I was going to make and the size of log I needed. He said if I couldn't find one in the wood pile he would cut a tree down for me.

I was expecting him to make fun of me, but he was all for it. I think he's turning into a chicken "liker" kinda, maybe???

Sounds like he's coming around if he's willing to cut a tree down so you can make a swing,

it's hard not to love em once your around them enough. I still wanna make a swing, Mellissa, you could make some money selling those, I am not very handy, anytime I try to make something myself it turns into a disaster!
