I'm just finishing day 16 here and I've seen 6 of my 10 eggs rocking a bit tonight. I don't go on lockdown until Thursday, but I'm almost afraid to keep turning them once I've seen them move around on their own.

LuvinMyPeeps, how close to hatching are you and how long has the hen been off the nest? Can you improvise a bator with a heat lamp and damp towels in a box or something? I would say at least try to candle them to see if they are still alive. It could be that the hen knows something you don't and that's why she left them.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that you still have a good outcome.

I have one little yellow chick running all over the 'bator - one has a zip about an inch long and working at it and another has the beak out and rocking all over. Waiting for the first one to get dried off good before I move it to the brooder. Awfully crowded in the 'bator but afraid to open it and mess up the hatch for the rest. So far so good!

I've got my 10 outta 10 lav orps.. woooot.. I don't know what the little blonde one will be when she grows up, but she's already my favorite.. (2 are still in the bator when I took the picture) My hatching is over for this year..

Locking down the bator as we speak. Hatch day is supposed to be Fri/Sat, the last time I candled I had 7 little peepers on their way. We'll see come this weekend!

I now have four out and doing okay...two more are pipped but not seeing action there and one is doing nothing. Not giving up till Friday!

I have some pips. None on the ones due tomorrow but some on the ones due Friday and Sat. Who knows! They had pipped before putting on lockdown so I misted as moving them. Hope they didn't get too low on humidity in the process. It is very humid here in the house with A/C out and rainy the last 24 hours. Countdown began and leaving the house so not to touch!
