Anyone hatching on January 5th???? I got chickies everywhere!!! PICS

Latest update: 2 Seramas (one of which my broody kicked out of the nest on lockdown day - her loss, lol) and 4 OEGBs (1 barred, 2 spangled and 1 beautiful silver/grey one)

Plus....13 pips! That only leaves 7 lazy ones as of right now. Still nothing from under my broody, but she's talking a lot and acting weird, checking the eggs a lot etc. I have no idea what to expect and there is no way she will even let me near her, lol. She looks like she wants to eat me whenever I go near the cage

How's everyone else doing?????

I have eight eggs that are due to hatch on the 6th - tomorrow! They are from my sweet lil Barred Rock that was killed by a hawk three weeks ago. I have two roosters, a Barred Rock and a Rhode Island Red so I can hardly wait to see what the chicks will be. This is my first time incubating eggs and considering how much I want them all to hatch and thrive I'm a nervious wreck. Here's wishing for the best of luck to us all!!

Most definitely, good hatching vibes coming your way

This is only my third hatch - second on my own - but I am still so very nervous! And to add to it, my first ever broody hen is due tomorrow! Ugh! lol The first hatch Silkiechicken did and the second one was from my rooster I had to rehome. I loved him so much so those eggs meant a lot to me...so I know exactly how you feel

I got two pullets out of the 5 eggs I set. It couldn't have been better. I will hope the same for you and I'm sorry you lost your hen...

Thank you

I am totally amazed really. There was a lot of drama and stress in getting eggs to set last month and then the condition of the eggs was not great. I now have 7 babies...another Barred OEGB hatched and another one is hatching now. The 2nd egg - a Frizzle - that my broody kicked out after pecking a hole in it - pipped and now I am down to only 5 that have not pipped yet tonight. I heard a faint cheeping from under my broody a few minutes ago too. I think it's gonna be a long night

I had one egg hatch several days before the others. So, my girls ditched the eggs to care for the baby. Why in the world both girls ditched 3 eggs to care for 1 little baby, I have no idea! So, they were moved to the bator. One hatched this morning and I put it back under the moms, they were so proud of themselves

2 others are surely about to pip

So, out of 4 eggs we now have 2 little silkie chickies!

I am so glad that you got your little seramas, I am pretty jealous of them and your OEGBs.

Very cool Angie! I'm hoping Fiona keeps going...so far so good. And I could probably hook you up with some OEGB's

Right now, I have 12 hatched and I think about 10 pipping and zipping right now. It is happening very fast all of a sudden! Still 4 or 5 without anything but I'll keep the faith

I can't tell yet, but one of mine might have 5 toes....I'm hoping!

I have 12 fluffy chicks - OEGB's, Frizzles, Sizzles, Seramas and Cochins (so the eggs said but I don't know yet) in the incubator now and 10 more hatching as I type this. Three have not pipped...sigh. And guess what???? I have chickies under my broody too!!! I finally got to see what I have been longing to see from the first day I had chickens - a chick peeking out from under one of my hens

AND it was a little yellow Serama!!! I think the other two under her - a Frizzle and an OEGB - have hatched too but she's being a tad bit cranky lol.

I do not know a thing about broody's raising babies....anything I need to know????
