I like the whole broody/momma thing, but I'll be glad when it's over too. I think I will just leave her be and see what happens. She has food and water and a warm dry place so hopefully she will know what to do. So far so good. She has been sitting on eggs for almost 2 months! She went broody and all I had were plastic eggs, lol and really didn't consider getting her any real eggs at all till last month when I realized how badly she wanted to be a Momma. We'll see if I do this again or not

LOL! I had a Buff Orpington that was so determined to be a mamma....she sat on a golf ball for 3 months....of course it had to be smack dab middle of winter. I would go and toss her out of the nest box must have been 100 times a day, I even took the golf ball away, I could not break her of it. Fearing she would get very weak and sick after 3 months of setting even with the food and water next to her, I broke down and put some eggs under her that had just been put into lockdown in the bator. She sat on all 5 and all 5 hatched. She was a good mamma but the babies were wild wild wild.

It's breaking my heart. He's all fluffy and cheeping, just seems very very tired. I gave him a drop of polyvisol and now I'm just holding my breath and hoping. Of course it has to be the one I really, really, really wanted!

Sorry...this is the best photo I can get for right now. Looks to be 5 girls, 1 boy will know for sure once the two newest ones dry out.
