Anyone hatching on July 25, please join me! **PICS ADDED 7/26!**

I have eggs due to hatch anytime between the 23rd and 25th. I started with 30 pheasant eggs and pulled 9 clears. Of the remaining 21, I could see definite life in 13 and the other 8 were too dark to see through. Just yesterday and today I have seen some of the eggs rocking, and 1 of them was one I couldn't see through, so I'm glad I kept them in.

I also have chicken eggs in the bator with the pheasants. I started with 8, pulled 2 clears and 1 quitter and think I have another that has quit but will let it go til the end. The remaining 4 are definitely alive. They are mixes from my flock and can't wait to see what they look like.

I'll go on lockdown tomorrow evening and try my best to sit on my hands. I just hope they wait until Friday to hatch since that's the only day this week I don't have to work.

Good hatching vibes to everyone.

i'll be doing the final turn before bed tonight and then sealing it up tomorrow AM.

the temp was up a bit (to 101) this AM so i'm trying to slightly adjust. I'd feel better to see it around 99-100.

I can't wait to see those little fuzz butts!! soo cute!!

I have an idea on the coloration of the 10 EE/Buckeye eggs set as i've hatched some of those before but the other 18 are brown eggs and i'm not sure which belong to which lady so it will be fun seeing all the babies. One of the eggs I set (#17) is very tiny (almost banty sized). i'm not sure why i even set it other than it was collected the day i set eggs and I felt bad not putting it in too. i honestly didn't expect it to even be fertile but as of our candling this past weekend it seems as fertile as the others. I wonder if it will hatch? guess we'll see in a few days.

I'll be posting as things progress, hopefully this will be an egg-hopping, chick peeping, fuzzy-butt weekend!!

We have 10 eggs under our first time EE broody Cleo's Friend, due the 28th. I set 12 but one disappeared and found one on the floor cold. The next day we discovered half fresh egg in the next nest smashed. At that point we decided the 5 young leghorn roosters had to go ( school embryology project). They were dispensed with and suddenly our egg production from 3 hens has risen. Darn rascals were eating eggs!!!!!!
I haven't bothered to candle. Eggs are blue and green so I don't know if it would work anyway. In the spring we gave 6 eggs to a friend and he hatched all 6 so we should have good fertility.
Cleo's Friend is in a large nest box and I think I will leave her there to hatch. She leaves about once a day to eat. About Day 19 I will screen her in there with food and water, and when the chicks all are hatched will move them to separate housing for as long as she wants to keep them separate.
Just found out our neighbor farm gal is down to 5 hens so she will gladly take any chicks we don't want. Since I can only keep a few, we can replenish their flock if they all hatch .

yay! more hatch buddies! welcome!!! I'm so excited to have others around.

I'll be doing the last turn before bed and then will divide off the eggs by color and seal up the bator tomorrow morning. I'm going to sell these so I want to be sure I know which are the EE's. If anyone local to northeast Ohio is looking PM me.

I forgot to mention I also have one of our three EE sitting on 7 right now, started with 12 but some were collected by mistake--one of those is in the bator but about a week(?) behind. funny enough none of them are her eggs or even EE eggs for that matter. she just won't give up the nest so we are just letting her give it a shot.

the brooder will be all ready by Thursday was just frshly cleaned out tonight.

good luck to all!!

I put my son to bed two hours ago been cleaning up the house and before bed went and added more nose prints to my incubator window and to my surprise i have one pip!!! 2 eggs rocking and another internal chirping at me! I have chicks arriving soon! 6am in the morning will be day 20 they are on schedule! my last hatch i had one little chick that internally pipped for 21 hours then 12 hours to zip so that would put these guys on their due date or maybe a little early!!!

milleryardchx, you sound like me with the cleaning! I do the same thing. Our youngest is just a couple months old then your little guy, isn't this age just so much fun? well, except for the tantrums!

anyhow, congrats on your pips! Last hatch we had one that hatched the evening of day 20 and two more over that night. the remaining 3 hatched the morning of day 21. I missed most of those hatching because i had to travel for work.

i was getting up to the minute pics from our nanny though! that was fun and i ended up having everyone in the meeting with me waiting as eagerly as I for updates. LOL

keep us posted! and take some pics if you can! i love to see brand new little fuzzy butts.

I'll be sealing up the bator this morning and then putting my own nose prints all over it! lol That's the one complaint i have with my bator, the windows are WAY too small! I'd love one that had the whole top clear but this just has two little 'windows' to look into.

Hey 6littlechickies from Burton Ohio! I don't know where you are, but I am in west Ohio. If we can meet somewhere and you feel up to it, I can get you styrofoam boxes of several different sizes that you can use as a hatcher! I just rigged mine up with a light and cut a hole in the top. Glue a picture frame to the hole, and voila, perfect viewing! That said, I have Serama eggs I'll be moving to my hatcher for a 26th due date. I'm not having a party like you are, but that must be exciting to share the hatching experience with your family! Yaay! And as for candling green eggs, I don't. I can't see in them anyway, and I have Cochin and Serama eggs to satisfy my curiosity. I've got a dozen EE eggs due at the end of the month, and I haven't handled them at all beyond turning

I'm actually surprised that I've left them alone. Good luck with your hatches, everyone!
