Anyone hatching on the 27th?

Ursus,
I was thinking the same thing. I have had problems even getting the favorolles to pip. The three gold laced cochin bantams just popped right out of the eggs but not the favorolles.
The orpXgiant cochin popped out too (literally) He just shoved his foot out first. Scared the daylights out of me as i was afraid he would suffocate since his beak wasn't out. I did take the shell off that one.
BTW I was emailing an experienced breeder this morning and she said that too high humidity as well as too low will make the chicks stick and in the case of too high, the chicks will be sluggish after they are hatched.

Amen!!! I helped out the little stuck one, and it is sleeping in its shell, breathing shallowly. It has not opened its eyes. I think now i should have left it alone, but it had been pipped for about 28-30 hours, and was obviously getting weaker. I dont think it will make it.

I have six little fuzzies, they are all doing great. i had to move them into the brooder, they were pulling on the other ones toes.
I have four or five more pipped.

So now I have officially done EVERYTHING I was not 'supposed' to.

28 to 3 hours is a very long time to have pipped. Eventually I think they dry out even if the humidity is OK.
Why is he still in the shell? Give him time and good luck. I hope he makes it.
My five from the last hatch are doing well and running around with the other 23 chicks that I had shipped to me on Monday.
Much more fun to hatch but much more frustration too.
