I am not sure how long to wait? Any advice?

The BBS Orpington is still doing well. She is starting to dry off and is "walking" around quite a bit. She seems to be fine.

Good that she's doing well. Still no other pips? I left my other 2 in the hatcher. I usually give them till day 23 or so. But in my experience, which isn't a whole lot, if the same breeds that were placed in the bator at the same time don't hatch within a day of each other, they usually don't hatch. I'll give these another day just to be sure.

No more pips, so I went ahead and moved the babies to the brooder. The ones that hatched first (yesterday morning) were really raising a fuss wanting their breakfast!! I hope that more hatch, but I'm happy with 6. It was much better than I thought it was going to be!

I know what you mean. It stinks, but at least you have the one. I had 2 hatch that I really didn't expect, so I'm happy with them. I doubt the other 2 will do anything. I'll pull them tomorrow.

An 80 or 100% hatch would be great, but it could have been worse. We could've had a 0 hatch, like I had on my Marans eggs. Expensive eggs to have a 0 hatch on. Now that stinks.

Oh, by the way, I just filled up the bator again. About 250 eggs worth!

I NEED HELP!!!

Ok, last week, we did really well and had a total of 10 new chicks. Then for some reason we haven't seen anymore. We took out overdue eggs, cracked them open and the fully formed chick was in them......no idea what happened there. Last night however, I heard a peep and went to look.....sure enough one was pipping. I went back to what I was doing and about an hour later, I heard a loud peep and looked. It's shell broke apart.... I think the shell was thin. It was laying there breathing and listless covered in blood. I decided to leave it alone. This morning it was still alive and its trying to get moving.....the problem is that it's muscles didn't develop right because it didn't pip out like the others. It's having a hard time moving it's legs and head. I just wanted to know if anyone else ever experienced this and do you think that the chicken will live, or should I put it out of it's misery? Help me if you can.
