Anyone have a hobby that doesn't involve yarn and sewing?

Well, I did modify and use those vegetable crates that Save a lot used to get their veggies in once but they were really too flimsy even after modifying and reinforcing so I didn't use those anymore. I like the crates cause it gives the windowboxes character.

I decorate straw hats with silk flowers. I also make grapevine wreaths with silk flowers and dried plant material. Finishing and decorating furniture is fun too.

Have you tried using pallets? Like the kind that they hual frieght on? they are pretty sturdy and you could cut them down to size. They are fairly cheap too, some places just give them away.

I like woodworking. And gardening. Even tho I don't seem to find time for those things much. Hoping to get back into the woodworking stuff.

Only time I ever used a scroll saw was when I used to make Hex Signs (you know, the PA Dutch ones). I haven't made one of those in years.

hmmm... maybe my chicken coop needs a hex sign or two

eta - I would make them on round bits of wood (usually a foot to 2 foot diameter, but have done larger) - instead of painting them directly onto the building - only time I did one directly on the building was this huge one I put on my mom's tool shed.

Well, there's always felting!
THe easiest way to felt is with a needle. Basically, you stab wool into different shapes with a very sharp, specially designed needle. You can make figures, designs, even fabric if you like!Needle felting=big time stress reliever/ anger management

Wet felting is more difficult. You take wool, spray it with hot soapy water, and agitate it. This is the most ancient way of making fabric.
For more info on felting, PM me!
Also, you could always spin! No, you don't need a spinning wheel, just a drop spindle, which you can make yourself out of a CD, a stick, and some sort of knife. Again, PM me for more info.

Hi.....I've been scrollsawing for around 8 years now. It's a great hobby to get into.

I also make ceramics...when I'm not scrollsawing.
