I placed 33 eggs in the incubator on Good Friday. I maintained 99.5 temp., and 50% humidity pretty well I think, but 12 eggs did not develop at all, and 7 died early on. I had 2 hatch in the early hours on Friday 27th. We had 11 hatch without problems, and 3 that had help. We have lost 2 babies so far (1 I helped, the other I didn't). I have 2 that seem a little weak (1 I helped the other I did not). I now have 12 babies all Marans, except a little mystery gray baby that I think is Langshan/Marans. Feel sad I didn't do better. Love my babies !

So I had 26 eggs in the two incubators (I wanted to compare between the Brinsea and the Little Giant). I had 11 hatch total. 2 I probably pulled too soon as I didn't know what I was doing. 1 I saw movement but nothing hatched. The hatch rate for the Brinsea was 3 out of 7 which surprised me. The LIttle Giant was really hard to keep consistent, but I finally got a humidity and temperature gauge that was more accurate which seemed to help. Total count: 5 Lavender Ameraucanas (out of 8) 1 Black Copper Marans (out of 4), 2 cochin/Amer. mixes (out of 5), 1 Naked Neck (out of 2) and 1 black Amer. out of the rest. Love my little Lavenders---sassy little things!
