Anyone have excema (sp?)????

I have a bottle of emu oil in the back of my fridge that I bought for the exact same reason. I'm telling you, I have tried EVERYTHING for mine. It's limited to my face (lovely, eh?), and if left unchecked, it really turns ugly--figuratively and literally. Evening primrose oil worked for a while, as did avocado, sweet almond, and various incarnations of all the luxury oils.

Then I went the way of commercial preparations. I ran the gamut, and I even asked for advice, and posted updates on my quest, complete with nekkid pictures (of my FACE, pervs).

I haven't blogged the latest regimen that is working for me, which turns out to be a combination of the Prescriptives makeup, but with ORIGINS moisturizers. I'm telling you--Origins' "Never Say Dry" face cream is working for me better than any of the prescription stuff from the dermatologist ever did, and despite the fact that it's crazy expensive (to me, anyway), it costs less than those prescriptions, which were mostly steroid-based.

If I use the Origins stuff faithfully, it's as if my skin is actually HEALED. Unreal. Of course, if I lay off or forget for several days at a time, the old waxy, scaly, red-blistered ugliness comes right back.

Anyway, just wanted to toss out there what's worked for me, Supergirl of the dry skin. I have all kinds of luxury oils on hand, that I've used with limited success from one time to another, but nothing comes close to what I've experienced with "Never Say Dry." I have an ingredients list, and if I put my mind to it, I MIGHT, with much trial and error, be able to dupe the formula, at least partially, but for now, this is much less heartache.

I have it both sides of my nose and between and in my eyebrows, and on one side of my chin. It's awful, and the more varying the temperatures and weather, the worse it gets. My dermatologist gave me a cream for it and it helps...sometimes. Some days it's so bad i feel as though I look like my face is flaking off. Hubby says it's not so bad, but i can tell. It makes me self conscious. I have found that some products work a little better than others. The stuff the dr gave me works some, bag balm helps a little. (I use a tiny tin of it i got...about the size of a carmex tin lasts forever) lanisoh origional cream (it's for breastfeeding mothers, it's major ingredient is lanolin), and a concoction i get from an earth mother-y store here in town. I tell em what it's for and the lady mixes it. It's got tea tree oil, and some other essential oils in a cream base of beeswax i think it is.

A friend of mine had it for years and years, the docs couldn't fix it, I had made a salve with olive oil and beeswax..she tried it, and somehow it cleared it up..
If you can't get the other ingredients right away, it might be worth a try
