Anyone have experience with aggressive dogs?

Sad to hear you had to make that desicion, but you gave her as many chances as you could, and in the end safty needs to come first.

you tried.

Sorry about your experience but I do believe you are doing the right thing. It is Never worth risking a humans life for any dog and I am a dog lover. I have loved them my whole life but have seen too many situations like yours that resulted in severe injuries and in two cases the death of human beings. One was a similar case where an aggressive dog had went for the Grandmother on several occasions. She stepped over him to get into the bathroom and you can guess what happened. It made me realize no dog is ever worth the risk to a person if they are dangerously aggressive. Only a trained professional can handle a dog like that. You did your best with her and made the right choice. Sometimes it is better to get a puppy where you know the temperment of the parents and can raise them the right way. Rescues and strays have an unknown past and can be unpredictable. I know many rescues that have gone on to be the greatest dogs and so loving, but I was talking about dogs with potentially dangerous aggression issues here. I have owned several rescues myself over the years. I just would not bring a potentially aggressive one into my home with my family . My childrens safety comes first and the safety of our other pets.

take comfort in the fact that Sophie had a very loving home and you tried your best to bring her back from unknown circumstances!!! God bless you for trying to rehabilitate her!!!

My experience with aggressive dogs is this: if you're not cesar milian dont keep them.

I might have delt with aggressive dogs before I had a kid, but I just dont bother with that stuff anymore. Corso's are know to be selectively aggressive- i mean they eat their owners for God's sake- Have you heard those stories?

Get rid of her and get a dane.
