Afraid I actually knew St. Brigid, as my daughter had to do a school project on a saint right after we got chickens. She wanted a saint that no one else would being doing, so we looked up the chicken saint. (you know we Catholics have saints for everything. LOL). This was after she had me bring the cockrel to the pet blessing at school! There were a few chickens there, but her's was the only rooster. LOL
Check on the internet, was a bit of info, if I remember correctly, it has been about 5 years or so. New Orleans here, so big Catholic culture here as well.Love this! Slightly off-topic...
My family from my grandparents back were all catholic and my husband was raised catholic.
We are Cajun so Catholicism is still a major part of our culture and community, but it was somehow lost at my parents generation (heathens!) so I was not raised catholic.
I still think it's a beautiful and fascinating religion. And now I want a Saint Brigid statue for my yard!!!
Awesome you're not far from me!Check on the internet, was a bit of info, if I remember correctly, it has been about 5 years or so. New Orleans here, so big Catholic culture here as well.
