Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

Good morning!!! Late late late last night/early this morning, my step brother and his lady showed up at our place with a horse! They just moved from Colorado and needed a place to board their horse and I agreed to keep her here! My donkey is very excited to have a buddy again

And people think THEY are soooooo smart!

Cleaned the big coop a little while ago. I moved the roosts around last time. I was trying to make things easier on me. It used to take nearly 2 bags of shavings when I cleaned. Now it takes a little over 1/2 a bag!
The roosts were 2 @ 14' long. Now there are 3 @ 8'. It is keeping the poops much more contained. Needless to say design matters!

I have been doing some reading on Silkies and somehow I missed that is could be a year before determining the sex, like when they lay an egg or not. I cannot wait that long!! I am a planner and this waiting mess doesn’t fit my personality

Sounds like he got very lucky.

I really hope the dumping of roosters is not becoming a trend. Horrible to think of them out there as hawk bait.
