Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

Sounds like he got very lucky.

I really hope the dumping of roosters is not becoming a trend. Horrible to think of them out there as hawk bait.

People dump dogs out all the time! I am not surprised they would do chickens and roosters.

Still a disgusting thing to do. No animal should have such treatment.

There are always options that are better than that.

I have been doing some reading on Silkies and somehow I missed that is could be a year before determining the sex, like when they lay an egg or not. I cannot wait that long!! I am a planner and this waiting mess doesn’t fit my personality

I just went out to check on Sesame and the chicks. A hawk is standing guard on top of a tall tree watching me, calling out to his two buddies surrounding the field. The crows were calling, but nobody was moving.

You might be a little spoiled when Mom makes you a perch to reach the water easier and your own hanging food dish.

I want to raise cotton patch geese. They are critically endangered and only a few breeders out there. Wait list for hatching eggs is 18 months.
