Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

I tried the cups (with the yellow pecker thing) and my hens kept them filled with debris. I tried the hanging nipples and they leaked. So, my latest is a large kitty litter container with the horizontal nipples. I still have a couple of them leak, but out of everything I have tried it seems to work the best. I would really like to have a container on the outside of the run for space purposes. Just thinking of things since I am redoing.

GOOD EVENING SQUATCHERS!!!

Haven't heard a peep outta @theuglychick in a WHILE.......

So, tonight for dinner.......out of tenderloin steak, turkey enchiladas, country fried steak and beef stew, we had......

...........pizza and wangs. Yeesh! As an aside, anyone know how to repurpose boneless wings that are WAY too spicy? DH asked me to order HIM wings, on top of 2 pizzas... so I figured, he wants 'em... I'm gonna torture him!!! heh... and he punked out... so, we have boneless wings I can't eat (sauce is tomato based), and he WON'T eat, cause he's a big baby... waaaah.. they're too hawwwwwwt.... friggen punk.

We are quite fond of our vertical nipple waterers.... we have about 20-30 nipples in our Chicken Box..... and I just ordered a 10 pack of horizontal nipples, just to try them out. The reason we like them so much is, they are easy to install... we can use them on different sized containers, and they are SUPER cheap..... so we can dispose of them if they get build up on them.

We DID have some chicks die their first night from drowning, because of a defective waterer, but that wasn't a defect on the waterers part... but the DH not installing the nipples properly.

Hey, does anyone here incubate eggs? I am gonna post a pic of one of the eggs I got in my barnyard mix... simply because it just looks weird to me.

@Smuvers Farm where do you get your nipples and what do you have them attached to? Do you have trouble with them leaking?

Always order through Amazon, and we have attached them to 5 gallon buckets, old protein powder containers, a dog treat container... pretty much any food grade plastic container that can hold however much water we need at the time. We are currently putting together a waterer for the peeps in the incubator to have, and are using this container:

Washed well and void of any snacks of course! :D

We have had past issues with leakage, but that again had nothing to do with the nipples themselves. If the hole we drilled into the container was too big, even by a slight bit, it would leak. We'd use white plumbers tape around the grooves to help screw and seal. Also, you need to hit the nipples a few times to get them to sit correctly when you first start using them.

According to her profile, she hasn't been online since Thursday night.
Yeah I mentioned her the other day and she didn't reply.
Maybe she's on vacay.
Hope she okay.
Ps. Had to help DH work in the front yard today.
Edging.
Because we have "neighbors".
Why does grass refuse to grow where you want it to and instead does a bang up job of growing on cement ?
