Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

Pics
I am inclined to agree.

My other standard sized roosters were okay with "doing their duties."

They did their jobs, they didn't get too crazy with it.

Reggie the CCL roo barely notices any hen other than my darn buff orp. I swear he's monogamous. That's not great for making baby Legbars. But he is at minimum... "sufficient."

But the bantams!!!

Those little devils picked up on Reggies lack of urgency and possible low libido right away.

They moved swiftly, with precision, and used the element of surprise.

Bantams seem friskier than standard breeds to me :yesss:

It was so bad!

I could do nothing to stop it!

One would distract me while two others would slip in like little bantam ninjas and fertilize my Cream Legbars with their little bantam seed!

Every time it would happen a little piece of me would die inside.

I lost a lot of things that day... my purebred Cream Legbar eggs for the next couple of weeks, my respect for my Legbar hens, and my respect for Reggie my Legbar rooster. He let it happen!
Poor Reggie, how does one roo fend off a gang of banties?

Some how I missed several pages of this thread around 41 to forty-something.

Lol!!! @rjohns39 Ive been meaning to update the other thread. I had to wait on a new pasta machine to come in. The one I originally ordered came in damaged. The company sent me another for free! It's here and appears to be in good working condition. So this might be the weekend I try the rjohns39 marathon lasagna!

No, after she catches the chicken she needs to make my lasagna recipe and tell me how it worked out.
