Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

Pics
Tractor Supply informed me that my traps are in!

Also, the other one I ordered and then tried to cancel from eBay didn't get cancelled so now I have 3 traps coming in!

Surely I'll catch SOMETHING!
I just hope what you catch isn't a skunk!!!
Seriously tho, try to set your lightest hen in the trap and see if she's heavy enough to spring it. If she;s not, you can add some weight to the trap set thingy using screw nuts and tape. Cover your traps with brush, except the opening. Good luck! Hoping to see some squatches in the morning!:fl

Great idea!

My little bantam hen, Pigeon, is the tiniest chicken that I have, or that I have ever seen. She's about the size of a small guinea pig so she's the ideal candidate. I'll try it out with her.

Fortunately, the dogs took care of the last of the skunks that was around here a few years ago. So far we haven't had anymore turn up. If they do, my dog LOVES stirring them up, so we will be the first to know. I know the deskunking recipe by heart.
