Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

So sad for her! :hitScore for you.

When we were looking at houses last year, we definitely didnt want an HOA for that reason. Too many rules & busy bodies. View attachment 1173558

Our town has a 3 hen rule but our neighbors don't really follow that. 2 neighbors definitely have a rooster & 1 neighbor has over 20 hens. Our neighborhood used to be farmland so I think people still have more of that attitude, even though we're technically a suburb. :bun
Now I have more than 20 hens and 3 roosters :thbut I enjoy having them and I'm learning multiplication chicken math hopefully I don't have to learn calculus

EXACTLY what happened to me!! We went to TSC for 6(!!!) chickies. Worker there said get a couple extra cause some would most likely die. BANG, we started out with 8 FlufferButters. Went back for 6 more.. BANG.. got 8 again.... (3 died though)... that's how we now have 5 Littles. Get a handful of eggs for Xena cause she's broody... BANG...... 7 Nuggets.... and the broody Xena made me want to incubate some my own darn self and... BANG.... I have 15 eggs in a brooder....

Hello... my name is Deila... and I.. am addicted to Chicken Math.....

Well, we are looking into subtraction right now. We have 3 white leghorn pullets that are just..... oh just gawdawful..... they are mean, mean spirited bullies that I feel would harm the new Nuggets once they were moved in with the flock. I know they picked on Xena relentlessly while she was broody, but she tolerated it better than I did... which mde me move her with a nest of fake eggs before I got her real eggs in.. just to keep her safe. Now, I feel to keep the flock safe, I will need to cull those 3.
