My favorite place to buy chicks makes their own feed. If they were closer I would always use it. It is plain brown bagged. Looks generic in packaging but I never lose chicks when using that feed.
I store in buckets with gamma lids. LOVE my gamma lids.
Oh and a gratuitous pic of my cookie balls!

We are under a severe thunderstorm watch. @Suzi18 Be careful! Tornado warnings your way.
I have it in a metal trash can and I have Sevin Dust sprinkled around the outside of it. I think they must have come in the food???
I would just count it as extra protein.I found bugs in my feed today!!!! Not happy since TSC is 15 miles away. I guess I should see what the Co-op sells, it is closer. When I chick starter last year it looked generic, if that matters.
Sorry about the auction! That is so frustrating!
I voted!
I like fried and smoked turkery, but I am not really a turkey fan. I have it 1-2x/yr.
Making headway with the run. It is not perfect, but whatever. I think we should get a break in the rain tomorrow and I hope I can get it complete enough to put Sesame in there.
If it doesn't rain here tomorrow, the PIC and I are going to rake leaves and put them in the chicken run and into the quarantine area for the Brat Pack.

I joined!!! And friended you.
You know.... I've never had a chicken complain if it wasn't pretty.
Throw out some shelled corn before you add the leaves. The girls will do wonderful things for you.
Bugs in feed =Extra protein. They might want to charge you more.I get flour bugs on the outside of my feed bags and the girls go nuts over them.

We keep our feed in totes with snap lids. Me and mice don't get along.
