Anyone have luck catching a feral chicken?? UPDATE: Rooster caught, no hen

When I lived in dry and dusty CA, we prayed for MOIST Leaves! Kept down the dust for free! Just no stinky grass clippings, only fresh grass from my own yard, no poison applied! Hens were great grass killers if I could keep the roaming dogs from getting them:hit
LOL yes they would help w/the dust.
Yeah the lawn chemicals are a concern, otherwise I would get the grass clippings too. I usually get the leaves after a frost has the grass not growing

Or are you Preying? On your sweet friend Smurvie?

Darn auto incorrect changed it on me! :lau

Back to our gardening thing from earlier.....
I am going to try strawberries in repurposed juice bottles. Maybe getting them off the ground will get them out of bird zone.

Maybe no one noticed that totally undisguised attempt to change subject...

I noticed, OK. Getting your strawberries off the ground only saves them from slugs and pillbugs, birds see in living color -- Your red berries are a magnet to them! Birds see in the UV range, and WAY better than we do. When I want Dylan to be quiet I turn off her UV light. It is like twilight for her! I know, because she can tell me. She said, "Turn on the light". Not kidding.

Oh I meant chicken reach lol. I have an unused area between chicken run and property line that is about 7x12. It had been overgrown with lady bells. I think I may have been able to smother them. I am thinking about hanging a pallet on the fence with the jugs secured between the slats. Bird netting and PVS to keep other fliers off it.

Just trying to get the most from my space. Maybe lettuces will work too......
