That would work for a few chicks. I used to order 50 chicks once a year from Murray McMurray, so I used the garage!
I just bought a bag of alfalfa pellets (from the small pet section at TSC) to try giving my girls once all my yard vegetation dies off. I want to make sure they still get a variety of greens. Do you think they will eat them as is or should I soak them to make a warm mash? Or even ferment them? Share you thoughts and wisdom please squatchers!![]()
Quick question. What is the best thing to put in the nesting box I can get in a small bag, probably at WalMart?
Put peppermint oil around the edge of the pot. Ants hate that stuff.Similar to what I got at Lowes to grow some things in Palm Desert. My problem was that the ants kept taking the potting soil!
Yes! That's the kind.pallets marked HT is heat treated and good to use

Is chloroplast and insulation board? How does the heater work for you? They look happy! (And hungry)! Here's a look at my crazy brooder. two 8x8 cells with chloroplast for walls on the inside and 1/2" welded wire on outside. Sweeter heater and nipples. Each cell can hold 100, but I like to keep it down to 75. Next year i'll put in rounded corners to avoid pileups.

Down their holes! You could see them in a line with my potting soil!
Where did they take it?
That sounds interesting. I have a lot of ants here, too. If I use pots this year I will try that!Put peppermint oil around the edge of the pot. Ants hate that stuff.

That stuff costs more than the plants I was growing!
