probably!

Yep...trash tree...but lovely. If the area around you is "mowable", you should be able to keep them under control.

I love the filtered sunlight under them...I'm sure chickens would love them too.

I'm going to plant a crepe myrtle in the courtyard of our coops. I think thats a good compromise...it will stay manageable and not spread everywhere.

We have one. It smells DIVINE when blooming. Don't worry about sprouts. Ours can be pulled out easily. It's not like a lilac bush or something.

Alright, the Ayes have it! The tree stays. The fact that it's 26 and windy might have something to do with it also. Hope I don't live to regret it...

Who ever wants saplings, please remind me in the spring and I'll help out HennysMom if I can. Then again, I might just mow them all over in a fit of rage

I have mimosa trees, but they are the red blooming mimosas. They have a bloom that looks like a bunch of grapes, except they are red. They still have their leaves, so maybe they don't lose them in the winter.

My mimosa tree is 3 years old and makes the most gorgeous pink flowers every spring. It's in my front yard, planted between a sweet gum and a white dogwood..the mimosa is my favorite tree! I love the long branches. I planted a baby next to my koi pond and it is about 3 feet tall now so next year my pond will have nice shade in the backyard from it. I love, love, love a mimosa!!!!!
