Anyone have Partridge Rocks ?

Our hens are mean to every other chicken, not sure were they came from cause we got them from my brother. Even their young ones are mean to the other chickens. They are not friendly even to me after being here a year and a half and me touching them everyday. They have never been broody but or buff orpingtons are broody all the time.

I have one from MM. She is very sweet and friendly. She is in the middle of the pecking order. No tendency toward broodiness. I love her color and feather pattern. She lays large light to medium brown eggs an average of 5 a week.

I am also getting PR's this spring. I am going with Myers as I also heard the MM were skitish. Have a friend that has some. Myers lets you order a smaller number so it is something to check into. The pic they have up is from a breeder in Oh real nice pics.

My two pullets and one roo is from McMurray and they aren't much on being picked up and held but they like to be around you.Willie my roo is very gentle with his hens and not a mean streak in him.

I have PR's from Murry. The hens were skittish when young but not anymore! They jump up on the roost to get in your face to see what treats you have. When I first come in the coop Ruby is jumping up and hitting me on my back to get to their food. I can reach down and pet them, and of course they don't mine as long as I have...go ahead ...guess... food in my hands!
The Roo I have is still skittish, does not like to be touched but also not aggressive. He has only raised his hackles at one person, Chickflick, but she was trying to herd his hens and he does know her that well.
Chickflick also has a Roo from that same order and he is the same in temperment. Her Roo is HUGE, I swear that beast is about the size of a turkey hen!!
They are both beautiful.

I have PR and I love them. I got mine from a local breeder and they are wonderful. They get along well with RIR and love attention. They free range well although their eggs are small to begin with it seems they keep getting larger. I would recommend this breed to anyone.
