My advice is make it bigger than you think you need, because you are going to want more chickens.

Thats great advice!...

But if you are certain you will only have 6 chickens....
For 6 chickens or less I use a Pallet as my floor and collect scrap wood from crates and such or the walls. Some will say thats not enough space but they only sleep, eat and lay eggs in the coop. as long as the ventilation is good you really only need enough space for them to roost at night. Corner to corner with a roosting bar is enough room for 6 full sized chickens on a standard sized Pallet. Enough room for a feeder and nesting box in the other 2 corners. They spend 95% of their time outside of the coop when they are not roosting.
Do not go cheap on the roof, I am a cheap charlie but not when it comes to roofing. Thats not something to short cut. I also put pallet coops up on blocks to double the size of space they have to stay dry when its raining as they can go under it... also a great place for their dirt baths i they are on high ground.

My coop was a shed full of junk, then they moved ,

We build 8x8 foot rooms , 2 at first now 3!! Inside the shed , buying a shed kit is a good way to get the strong bones of a building without much work . Good luck

I will warn you, because it happened to me... if you get a pre fabricated one do not follow the guide for chicken allowance on the box. Mine said 8-10. That is not enough space. 4 is my max. So just do your research and don't listen to the box. :)
Edited to add, my girls free range during the day and only roost and lay in the coop. And we moved their dirt bath tire out.

Just get that chicken coop like the one HazelandPearl posted...... you can purchase it through Tractor Supply Company, they are selling it for $270 as we speak. But if you are good with your hands or know someone who is, you can build a bigger and nicer one for probably less than that. But like what Hazel said, if your chickens free roam throughout the day, the coop is only a place for them to sleep in at night..... you really don't need a mansion, just something sufficient enough.
