Anyone have success finding roos a home on CL?**DONE**

Well, I listed him last night and it's still not showing up....hmmmmph!

My ads usually come up within 15 mins. It says it's been listed. I'm
wondering if I should list it again?????

We have a large Hispanic ( all varieties) community in our area and I tried to list roos on CL once. I was uncomfortable with the responses I got- they just did not ring true to me. Then I advertised at work and found a nice Hispanic gal whose hubby is quick and efficient about putting roos on her kitchen sink, ready to go. She raves about the taste and health benefits of free range chicken and doesn't mind bantams at all.
They go for a good cause, and I don't worry about them ending up in the wrong hands. The last batch went for a Cinco de Mayo party!
And no, I don't charge her.
I currently have 6 straight run EE blue egg chicks listed and no takers so far. If they don't sell, I'll raise them and charge $$ for the hens and give away the roos.

I found a great home for my Silkie rooster on CL. The new owner got a couple of hens from me a few days later. and I agree with lifetime chicken lover about being honest in the ads. My boy had an ugly crow!

I've got a CL ad running right now and have someone coming Sunday and Monday for my Splash Polish pair, Mottled Houdan pair, one of my SL Wyandotte roo and SL Cochin Roo. I've had no luck yet for my BO, BR and RIR roo's They may be my first home freezer camp.......I can do this.

I had extra's of my Polish so I put them in Pairs to get rid of the polish roo's, as pretty as they are I have too many roo's. I have left one WCBlack Polish pair that I will re post on CL when my ad expires.

I also started up a separate hot mail account so I don't have to worry about spammers bombarding my regular e-mail address (but haven't got bombarded yet anyway)

I found a home for 2 roos once. They actually went to a guy who had just gotten back into the chicken thing and needed a roo for his 25 girls. He took both of my boys. One roo would have worked himself to death with that many girls.

Well, my big boy is at his new home. A gentleman with 6 coops and only 3 roos was wanting another roo and one good at herding the hens in at the end of the day. (He
free ranges them on 3 acres). I never give up a pet so I was feeling very anxious about it. I'd only had him a few months so it wasn't as hard as if I had raised him from
day one. I'm hoping that my BR cockerel ends up being a nice roo.

What a wonderful blessing that this had a happy outcome for you, for the roo, for his new flock of hens, and for the guy who has been looking for a good roo for his flock! That's better than a win/win... that's like, win/win/win/win!

It sounds like your big boy is gonna love it where he's at. 3 acres of bugs... a yummy life for a rooster!
