Anyone have their coop inside of a large run? Pics?

Yep! It's a little confusing to write out. Basically, I have a 14x20 space to use, and if I put the coop on the outside I lose the square footage to the sides of the coop that could be run space. Here's a bad pic - dotted line is the allotted space.

The main thing with putting a coop inside the run is that you have to go into the run to tend the chickens. That's a bigger problem for some people than for others.

Honestly I'm so used to having to go into the run to get into the coop that it's not really a factor for me. My coop does eat up quite a bit of run space though but I still have a good amount of space per bird (currently 10 birds, 440 sq ft not including coop inside the run).

On the plus side, the coop holds up the netting better than a couple posts ever could.

I'd build the coop in the corner of the 14x20 and make the run encompass the rest of the 14x20. You could put the door to the coop on the outside, and have a separate door to the run.
That's kind of what I'd had in mind! In that case I would lose a little bit of run space so there's room to get to the door, but not the same amount as if I were to have the full run out. Thanks. :)

Yeah, it's not the biggest issue in the world, but I have one hen who gets meds every 12 hours. It'd be nice to not enter the run at night, but I have chicken boots anyway!

Having trouble finding photos of this, curious if anyone has a free-standing coop inside of their run. With the space we've chosen for our coop and side of the run, coop on the outside would eat up a bit of space, so debating putting it inside. Would love to see yours if you've done this!

The main thing I'm uncertain on is best way to do access to the coop from the outside of the run. If I have the coop flush with the side of the run and build around it, that'd give me the main coop door access so I don't have to enter the run to access them or clean. I don't care about the nest box access from in or out, we have very few layers.
We do. We have coop attached to a covered pen. We cover in plastic in winter and leave open in summer. It is inside larger fenced area.
