I suspect this may have prompted the laying of the first egg of the summer... prematurely

This is one of 14 "Boys of Summer" that hang around until November, or whenever they're driven down to lower country by snow - We don't sleep much in September and October for the bugling... it's pretty special

I have been trying to get a similar pic of one of a handful of big bull Bison that also hang around here during the summer - wonderful, but they really wreak havoc on the gardens, and scare the buhgeeepers out of my hens...

DH has strict instructions to leave these boys alone in September, Oct. and Nov... they're pets!!

Besides... that would be cheating

Well since it is you i will come up and help you with your problem when season comes in. No i tell ya what i have heard 2 bugles in my life and the first one made the hair stand up on my neck because i was real close to it and the second one was in a distance neither has been around where i live though. They are a beautiful animal and taste good also.

Gorgeous pics! Not something I'll ever see in South Carolina!

WOW!!! He's beautiful! The only hunting we allow around here is with cameras. My DH had a really, REALLY nice Mossberg that he shot & killed 2 geese with. I cried buckets, he sold the gun, and has not shot at a living creature since then. He still has several guns, but target practice works just fine...
