Anyone here have experience killing ringworm??

I don't think I would have gotten rid of it without oral meds. I was using max strength Lotrimin and I'm pretty sure I heard the fungus laughing as I frantically applied it to every part of my torso. Obsessive -Compulsive type cleanliness is actually healthy in this case. I stopped using bar soap altogether.

Not sure what M-T-G is. But Mane & Tail is a shampoo for use on a horses 'mane & tail'. But it's supposed to be good & nourishing for human hair too....(my aunt used it & Loved it for her own hair as well as her horse's). But I don't know anything about healing qualities. It can be found I'm sure at feed stores. But also is found at Kmart where I seen it recently next to the shampoos in the shampoo isle. I wonder if it'd be nourishing for dried damaged hair?

I was told to wear gloves when dealing with DMSO by my vet. Not only can you instantly taste it in your mouth if you get it on your skin, but it also can cause a misscarriage if you are pregnant. I wouldn't recommend that stuff readily for any ringworm. It may have worked, but is a bit overkill and dangerous.

edited just to add that I have used DMSO on RINGBONE in a horse that is a totally different condition. Nothing similar to ringworm.

Shapley's M-T-G is a special product for horses. It will kill fungal infections over a period of time, but it is best known for growing hair. It is NOT Mane and Tail. M-T-G stinks to high heaven and definitely not something you want on your skin or hair as a human. You sure won't have any friends left if you do! LOL

Here is a link to M-T-G...

I use Nizoral anytime I've been working in the garden. It's good as a preventative for scalp ringworm, but I doubt it would do much for an infection already in progress. I never tried it for the body ringworm, but if Lotrimin didn't touch it, I doubt a quick wash will.

no its ringworm, we the people all have it as well. been confirmed

What worked well with us (not on the animals) Is Clear nail polish. Kills it every time for us. Get a bottle of the regular clear nail polish and paint it on the ringworm spot. Do it everyday until it is gone. You will see it start to lighten with in about 2 days. The nail polish suffocates it. Just be sure not to use that bottle of nail polish on anything else like you fingernail or toe nails...make sure you throw it out when you are done. Another good idea is to apply it with a clean Q-tip and no double dipping!! That way you aren't using the brush at all..then you can save the nail polish for other things!

We have been doing this for years and it has worked nicely for us.
