She had nightmares for weeks even longer than when she saw the Exorcist. Nothing but home grown eggs for us.

I dont blame you! If my girls dont provide enough eggs (normally they do) but if they dont I go up to the grocer and buy Organic Free Range Eggs. USDA Approved!

You have much better food laws/rules than we do. FDA is watered down by lobbyists to serve the corps.
Very few labels mean anything here, i.e. cage free, free range, natural - meaningless terms.
We may have a cage free rule coming into effect next year but will only apply to new facilities - so everyone is grandfathered in and caged hens will be the source of 89 cent eggs for decades.

I once ate a cage deviled egg at a party after a year eating only my eggs and it was so tasteless I might as well have had a glass of water.
I have enough hens I make sure I never run out.
I also only eat my chicken. Trouble is chickens only have 2 wings and 1 liver so and I love both so I only buy organic pastured Amish raised wings and livers.

My birds are very clean and pastured. Some people are just weird. I wonder what she'd do if she saw the source of cage eggs?

Add me to the list.

And I could not agree more about those meaningless labels.....still a store bought egg in a fancier carton that costs more Period.

The only way I eat those "awful"

battery eggs if its contained in a recipe of something store bought. ie; bread or a muffin. Won't even go for breakfast anymore because commercial eggs have no appeal to me at all. The ONLY time store bought are allowed in this house is Easter time only because of the need for white eggs(dont have white egg layer but EEs are in my future and that will eliminate 2 chores). Then I torture my chickens and feed them those hard-boiled store boughts after Easter.
