Ok, so I just looked on http://www.ameraucana.org/history.html

The first "MUST" is to lay blue eggs.. They Must have pea combs, and be bearded, muffed, and tailed, and CANNOT have tufts. Also MUST have slate blue legs and red ear lobes (females pale). Someone referred to them to me as white, but the standard says slate.

My favorite armand baby

Awwww thank you for posting these! I love it! That was my favorite as soon as it popped out of the egg. That's the one I wanted to keep! haha!

I'll hatch more of those eggs for sure.

Then I'd say those are Easter Eggers, but I'm sure they are still beautiful.    Do they have beards and muffs?  The legs should be white or light slate

Oh...OK. I bought them as americaunas at Greens, but its OK. I still love them. Grin. They lay blue eggs and lay better than my barred rocks. Yes, they do have beards and muffs...and pea combs. When they were chicks, the legs were a lot lighter, even tannish, but now greenish. Thanks for the info.

OK...dumb question...what's a tuft? Mine do have red combs and lobes. The rooster is beautiful, but not as sweet as the hens. They were bought as HENS! Lol.
