Anyone in WV???

Hi! I am also in West Virginia---live about 14 miles east of Point Pleasant. I raise fancy show bantams and I have to admit I am really having a hard time finding poultry shows here in WV. The only thing I am seeing here even close is the WVa State Fair and all the county fairs. Does anyone here know of any poultry shows in WV other than the ones already mentioned? Also, does anyone know of any Poultry clubs here in WV, preferrably Bantam? If I can't find either of these, I guess I will just have to figure out how to start a poultry club with the ultimate goal of having a show here in WV. If anyone is interested please let me know! Good to meet you all, and administrator, thanks for letting me join so fast!

You say you live close to Point Pleasant, do you know what the chicken/ livestock laws are there? i am looking at a house in Point Pleasant and cant find any info.

We've gotten our birds from Meyer up in Ohio so far but are interested in finding breeders and other chicken people in WV.

My buddy I work with just built a whole new 4 section coop. He will be breeding Black Copper Marans, Buff Orpingtons (one of mine was a rooster) and Steele Eggers. We got our chicks from Meyer also. So you can look up the Steele Eggers on their site. I'd like to order a Green queen rooster and breed them because they are all so different and cool. I shouldn't have a rooster where I live but may keep one with him to breed them.

Their Steele Eggers are really interesting, as are the green queens. Hope he gets some nice birds!

We just finished a second coop and we've picked up some birds to go with our Meyer birds. If all goes well, we should be set up to hatch lavender orpingtons, cream legbars, and olive eggers (legbar over black copper marans) before too long.

I'm in Weirton, WV. Sadly no chickens allowed here. Hopefully I get to move soon. I'm so sick of arbitrary laws. This is a backwoods town, not the big city, which btw most allow chickens.
