Anyone Interested in a 2017/18 Emu Hatch Along?

Lol I feel you freezing. One other thing I have found so effective is I only incubate of the egg shell temp not the incubator or the extra thermometers. As of now my calculated thermometer reeds 100f and my Bator reeds 95.4 but my eggs reed 97.5. I have used this method with all of my eggs and it works perfectly as they can cook if you do not check the egg temp as the baby grows the egg gets hotter no matter what your thermometer is saying. I have 100 % hatch rates with chic ken duck extra using this method.

You can use a ear thermometer to get the egg shell temp just make sure you check the center of the egg. As the top and bottom will reed different due to the open space in both sides.

yay, sort of, the smaller egg is progressing nicely for the weight loss. the larger egg however is not showing much in weight loss since the day after xmas. but I'm hoping its the scale as its so hard to weigh accurately. But it has lost some weight so I'm just going to hang in there and try not to get too excited lol. they went into the incubator on 12/15 so they still have lots of time, just very worried about the larger egg. this incubating thing is very stressful lol

Yes it is have you smelt your eggs to insure they are not bad? After 7 or 10 days they will start to smell if they are bad and definitely if there is a baby that has passed.

You can also use more fan on the larger egg if it is not loosing enough you just don't want it to be to drastic at once so try to get it less humid and a little more air and see what it weighs and if is loosing to much lessen the air or if it is still to little boost the fan.

Update emu 1 Is at day 39 and is just a wiggling and a rolling lol. I have 7 in the Bator now all diffrent hatch dates 2 is on day 30 and is warm on one side and cold on the air cell there's a baby!
