Anyone into rare or exotic?

Is that a caladium or taro? They are very similar. I have some taro, green and purple. I really need to get a little stream thing so that I can have it in moving water. Standing water is too much of a hassle and soil growing is a little more difficult.

Those sheep are Khatadin, but they are currently in the freezer. I'm just going to concentrate on birds and rabbits.

We tried jack fruit and I was sorta interested in it, but decided that I should concentrate more on things we would eat and I think most of the fruit would become fodder - granted, that's not a bad idea but I would still feel like wasting. My daughter had no idea that you can eat if rip and unripe. She bout a can and the Asian market and was getting ready for a nice sweet treat and she got the unripe and almost lost her cookies because it tasted like chicken.

Hello! I live in Puerto Rico and have lots of coconut trees, lots of mango trees, west indian cherry tree, passion fruit, two sweet papaya trees, bread fruit trees, bitter oranges, plantain trees, sweet plantain trees, and a spanish pepper plant.

So happy this summer everything seems to be blooming and growing fruits.

The coconut palms get very tall maybe like 20ft that is as tall as the ones that I have in my yard. The good thing about them is that growing more coconut tree are easy. The trees are always dropping the old fruits and then another tree starts to grow. We usually take the ones that drop and put them somewhere else to grow. Oh and I also forgot I also have two avocado trees that are growing but they are only around two feet so far.

Hmmmmm......I am wondering if I want a coconut. I loe the water, drink it almost every day, but I know I will not be able to keep myself supplied. I just started a jackfruit seed and have 2 more that I will start. I figure I can always use those as fodder for the animals, too. While I was volunteering at the fair, someone brought in kei apple. They have a plumish taste and grow readily from seed, but forgot it :(. he also said that they are excellent for planting as borders since they get really thorny and keep things in or out, depending on what side they are supposed to be on. Might keep the raccoon out and my dogs in!

no i think if you had a coconut tree you would have more than enough coconut water to last you a long time and they grow
pretty fast. this is a picture of one of my trees its a young tree

you can't see the coconuts that well, but it is loaded with them. the only bad part is having to get the outside of the coconut off.
the kei apple sounds like a good idea. oh and i forgot i also have a coffee tree, but im not sure what type of coffee.

i think you should get a coconut tree at least two and if you want more later you could just grow more from the coconuts you have.
and the water from a just picked coconut is soo sweet and the meat is very good too. it is so much better than store bought. i highly
recommend you getting at least two.

I wish I could grow coconuts here but I already have too many tall things that have to go in my greenhouse right now lol. One outta-my-zone plant that I would like to try and grow is breadfruit. I think the leaves are just beautiful !!!! Of course they can get tall too lol.

their leaves are huge. there are two kinds of bread fruit there is one that has pointy things on the outside and inside it has
these round things that you cook and eat, but i dont like that kind. the kind most people here eat are the ones with a
smooth skin and the fruit inside and it doesn't have round things inside it. have you ever had bread fruit?
