No not yet. Think I need to wait till next month. I heard about homegrown star fruits they are not to compare at all to the supermarket stuff.
Oh Italia, I just saw you live in Texas too. Do you have experience with Hazelnut Trees/Bushes? Would like to get some, but I am worried it would be to hot for them.

No, I have not done these yet. I brought back some seeds from Kauai but have not planted any yet. No, I take that back I tried to bake some in the oven with wet paper to sprout and it did not work. Also got some coffee beans. I really need to do something with them because the seeds are almost three years old now and might not even be viable anymore. Where are you ordering from fellow Texan?

Yes I thought about the same problem too. You ever heard about clay Ollas? It is like a Amphora, you dig it close to your plants in the ground and fill it with water.And thru the clay the plant gets always water.

Where are you ordering from fellow Texan?

I ordered all my seeds from ebay yet. They have a tone of rare seeds. I not tried another place yet, but I am open for suggestions and new places.

I have a star fruit tree. It is in a pot. I don't know how old it is because I bought the tree at a farmer's market. It bears nice sweet juicy fruit. They can take a little shade and still flower so if yours is getting plenty of sun, it should fruit if it is old enough. Was your from a seed? I am not sure how long they take to flower from seed. The starfruit I have had from the supermarket are much more bland than the ones from our little tree. I have to find them before our turkeys do because they LOVE the starfruits and will even try and get their big fat bodies up onto the large pot to reach the higher ones.

Mine is from Plant Delights I think. I have it in a pot and it barley hangs on so something I am doing is not alright. I have it in partial shade. When in the sun it frys very fast.

Has anyone seen the cover of Plant Delights catalog this month? Soooooo funny

My banana are in a sheltered area where wind doesn't hurt them.

Some passiflora have to be hand pollinated. The p.edulis sometimes require mason or carpenter bees. I use a sable eye shadow brush to pollinate mine.

I'm going to try permaculture and let everything live symbiotic for better production and water conservation. A jungle is what I'd really like.

Don't have coconuts but I have plenty bananas unfortunatly almost all my bananas are unedible and full of seeds.

Love all the lush leaves! Hey I see a red caster bean in that landscape. Have you ever over wintered one to get a really big size next year? I was considering digging up a candle stick plant and a castor and over winter them in same pot. I just read the other day that the candle stick plant can grow over thirty feet. Around here it is treated as an annual, so I think it would be really awesome to have one of these beauties of a larger size. Along side a giant red castor would be stunning I think.
