Anyone know any *natural* ways to help with the flu?

I do this too..... But on a diff twist

Cup of hot tea (green), 2 teaspoonfuls of raw honey, 2 shots of whiskey (jack daniels preferably) and then sweat it out. If this doesn't start working within 10 minutes repeat steps 2 and 3 till you fall asleep

Sleep is good too you know..

Umm, someone or a lot of someones are overlooking the obvious . . . chicken soup!

(Orange juice has vitamin C, true. A great little antioxidant. It also has acid, and more importantly fructose, a form of sugar. If you have an infection, be careful about ingesting sugars (juices) as sugar feeds bacteria.)

Fluids are important. Clear fluids.

If you're saying that you are constipated, "magnesium citrate". You can get it at the drug store.

@Boyd, if it makes you feel better . . . I'm vegan. And VERY allergic to chickens! (I have . . . well, a lot of them, too.)

@Chickengal505 Re: constipation - There's also cod liver oil . . . and castor oil. . . (even soap will do the trick). *blech*.

I check out www.earthclinic.com from time to time. I find it helpful and they are always recommending apple cider vinegar for whatever ails ya. I bet they recommend it for the flu, too. And push the fluids as others mentioned.

ChickenGal -- My family had a stomach bug two weeks ago. It was the most awful bug that I have ever had!! It made it's way through my extended family, too. They said the same thing, too. It lasted for 4-5 days. At first I thought it was food poisoning, but it so very generously spread itself around. It laid you flat out with exhaustion. Only laying still made you feel slightly human. Once you moved/stood up your intestinal tract moaned, I swear.

I had both vomitting and diaherrea (sp), hubby and the extended family just had diaherrea. My daughter just vomitted and got over it in about 36 hours -- way faster than the rest of us. And my youngest somehow escaped getting sick -- don't ask me how. She has an immune system that is extremely strong. She never catches the contagious junk that goes around. I hope you feel better soon!
