Anyone know how to identify this budgie is male/female and the age?

I would say under 6 months, the bars on the forehead go all the way down.

That is correct, when they get older the cere is blue in males and white or brown in hens.

This beauty is a young bird. His black bands go all the way down to his cere (nose). He will lose these bands when he gets his adult plumage. His first molt may start as early as 4 months. At around 8-9 months if age his eyes will change and he will get a white ring in his iris. Although his cere is now blue if it changes to brown in several months then this bird is a female. Nice photo! He/she appears very friendly.

Can't tell, the males have a dome shaped head while the females have a more flat shape to their heads. My mom and I use to breed them about 3 years ago.
From the looks from the picture, I want to say male, but I would need a side profile.

He has a blue cere with not white rings in it.
