Anyone know of any Golden Retreiver puppies....

....of good stock who will be available for buying or adopting in the next few months or over the summer? We've had Goldens for over 15 years, and 2 have died and we're loving having Lacie still here, but she is 12 now and we're panicking about when she's gone. We do have a mixed breed dog -big black long haired Alex....but he'll need a companion and we'll need another Golden to love on....Its got to be a female and young-baby or young with no problems, neglect, abuse, fears....My daughter cries when she thinks about Lacie being gone, and I cry whenever I get to thinking about her mom Chelsea being gone. She died 3 years ago, but what a dog. Everyone wanted her to be bred 1 time just to have 1 of her puppies- her temperament was so wonderful. Everyone we knew loved her...she was very highly obedience trained.
Now of course we don't think she will or plan on Lacie dying soon, but she is 12 and she's lost alot of weight in the last year. I do not want to know what's wrong.She is happy, loves to eat, run and play with Alex, chase the running Roos in our yard, is very social,etc....But I just wanted to put a feeler out here to see if anyone knows anything. We're in Western NJ, will spend July in Jamestown NY, will be in Atlanta Ga for a long weekend at the end of May, will be in Boston Mass in November for a wedding on the 9/10th...so if anyone in those areas can get back to me with any leads, I'd love to hear from you. Sorry this is so long.

Hi Lisa,

Try the AKC breeder classifieds http://www.akc.org/classified/search/index.cfm It has a search tool that's helpful for finding out who has a litter or will have one soon, and how many males and females they have. The breeder profile can also give you a good idea of who not to buy from, as it tells you which breeders give health guarantees and take puppies back if there is a problem with them or the new owner can't keep them. Unfortunately many puppy mill dogs are AKC registered, but it helps point you in the direction of breeders to look into.
