Did you know that there is a research that have proven that the TOMATOES PLANTS secret some volatile substance to the air that atract the parasitic wasps, while they are atact by the caterpillars ? Have read it in "Scientific American " many years ago!I pick most of the tomato hornworms off my tomatoes but some always escape.
If I am lucky, those hornworms are visited by a parasitic wasp and you get something that looks like this---DON'T SMASH THIS!!! The larvae of the braconid wasp feed off the hornworms and come back next year for more.
