Anyone know what type of bug this is?

I found this weird bug, it looks like a combination between a wasp and a praying mantis. It can fly and it has four wings, they are almost perfectly stacked on top of each other though and I only noticed when it opened them to fly.

Amen, instant fan over here, especially after spotting a spider the size of a Pomeranian way-too-close to the coop when I went to gather eggs last night (I made everyone come out and look at it LOL). I read as much of that Wiki as I could before my eye started to twitch--this critter is *not* related to mantises at all?
