Anyone know where I can find these?

Since I have been talking to Aubrey ( Boggy Bottom Bantams), I have really gotten interested in ornamental pheasants and I would like to try to find hatching eggs of a few varieties. My #1 interest are the Elliots pheasants, I would love to have some of these but some others that I would be interested in are Edwards, Humes,Mikados, Reeves, Yellow Golden, and rare colored Ringnecks ( Buff Pied, Buff Isobel, ect), and Grey Jungle fowl.

Like I said, I would prefer to get hatching eggs if anyone has them or knows where I would find some, please let me know.

I only have one on your list, Yellow Goldens.................... I also have Swinhoe, Red Golden, Lady A, Silvers and Melaistic(sp) Might have Reeves later.

Have you checked into the regulations for keeping pheasants first? I dont know if ornamentals fall into the category, but you may need a license to posses them.

If it's money for adult birds that is an issue, one must ask if you have the money to build proper aviaries for each species.

Another thing to think about. If you do find eggs, you'll need extra aviaries for the extra males. Keeping each species hatch together till mid to late winter will be no big issue. But come breeding season, if you have more than one male in the aviary, all hell will break out, and you'll end up with dead birds.

Some species cannot be kept together, right from hatching. Like Reeves. They will kill other species of chicks.

Another point of interest. The Reeves males are well known for being the most pugnacious of all the species. This is towards the keeper.
Ask yourself: do I have the right temperment to allow a bird this aggressive use his spurs on my legs, and not kick the bird off ?
Most male Reeves are like junk yard dogs. I know few people that have the right temperment to handle them...

When building aviaries for them, also consider that you'll have to keep each aviary apart form the other, or use a sight barrier between each species, to keep them from fighting through the wire.

Minimum aviary sizes.
Reeves: 200 sq. ft.
Elliot's: 200 sq. ft.
etc.

Bigger, is always better. Especially for any long tail species.

So, planning the aviaries would be your first step. Get them built and the landscaping well established the first year. Get birds the following year.

If you buy adult birds, you will not have to build as many aviaries to house all that you hatch.

Pheasant lay in the spring, you should try the golden, good ones for newbe to pheasant, eggs are alway for sale on ebay and eggbid during the springs.

Well, I do not believe that the OP stated any issue with money problems. She simply stated that she would prefer hatching eggs.

I am sure that the OP has done research on each breed, and knows what needs to be done at this point. We here at BYC always try to be helpful and kind in our words that we write to one another.

I have talked to Clint (RAREROO) a lot about these birds for a while now, he knows the ins- and outs on them. He's just looking for a reliable BYC member source to get some from this spring is all.
Doing research on these types of birds is always best for both yourself and these birds though, more opinions the better.
But simiply hunting a breeding sorce here.
